David Lane is one of the most interesting artists I have had the pleasure of meeting online. I say "meeting" as David is an artist one cannot help but notice. From me, that is a compliment.
I make no secret of the fact that going through many allergies with oil painting that my own world was literally turned upside down overnight, and it was only then that I had no option but to gain an insight into the digital art world.
Although my allergen was finally discovered and solved, I still retained the Digital Arts as a medium I had come to love. The computer does not produce art for a Digital Artist - and the artist works every bit as hard as the traditional artist - it is just different - but beautiful in its own right, and with David Lane's work I am about to show you how beautiful it can be.
David Lane, without knowing, was another artist who was and is a great inspiration to me. I like him. I like his art. I like his sense of adventure with his artistic ability. He's an artist I hold in very high esteem and I view him as one of those artists that holds the key to the future. David Lane is without doubt, ahead of his time.

There is a beautiful flow to much of David Lane's work - in many ways it is like viewing film after film of flowing silk; substantial but sensual.

David Lane says of himself in his Biography : "was born in a small town of in the heart of the finger lakes region. I'm not sure when I became interested in art. I started painting with water colors and Acrylics while I was in Canada for a while during the Viet Nam war. I became serious about art a short while after my tour of duty in Viet Nam. while I was getting a degree in Computer Science.
Today all of my art is done on a computer using various programs and techniques. My works tend to be eclectic , from straight unmodified photographs, to digitally painted 'mindscapes' . I like to have fun and experiment with different methods and tools. My goal is to evoke some response in the viewer, doesn't matter to me what the response is. The worst insult you can give me is to be indifferent to my work.
I have works in private collections throughout the world."
David certainly attains his goals and evokes responses in his viewers, so please understand that in this feature, I can in no way do his work justice as his portfolio is beyond the scope of this blog, so please visit his portfolio and immerse yourself in the delights of another world!
