In her own words, Raffaella Lunelli says “I have two passions: art and photography.
My parents were painters. And I studied art and painting from childhood.
I studied many techniques: oil painting, watercolor, pastel, China ink, and others.”
But what I love most is the ancient technique of egg tempera.
Then I also applied my knowledge of painting techniques with digital art.”
Stunning Tempera Work!
Raffaella goes on to say, “My passion for photography started at the age of 10. I started to shoot with a super-compact Kodak Instamatic 50!
I loved photography, and after a few years I started to develop and print my own black and white photography.
I tried many darkroom techniques, like compositions, light masking, sunburns, photomontages.
Many years later, I stopped developing my own shots and changed over to digital photography where I recommenced my photography in earnest and am now fully engaged with my work.”
Beautifully classic – and may I say “cute”?
Excellent detail with tones that are not easy to accomplish.
Rafaella makes it very clear as to what she loves to do when she says “My preferred subjects are the cats. My cats and others cats, but I like landscapes too! Emotive shots, city shots, still-life, and basically anything that takes my interest at the time.”
“I still love Black and White art, and with the digital work I can achieve the best results. Better than in the Darkroom.”
