Sharon Talson Featured Artist

Sharon says, "Finding inspiration in the garden and living on the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada, Sharon takes advantage of the opportunity to photograph beautiful flowers, intriguing wildlife and fantastic scenery. She loves to be able to capture a moment in time to cherish forever.
Gardening has been a natural springboard for her photography, and after capturing the local flora and fauna, Sharon has ventured onto the hiking trails to find wildlife in it`s natural habitat."

A very handsome fellow!

Macros are certainly fascinating!

Ah, this one is so cute, and sometimes we all need a dose of cuteness :)

Artist Feature - Diane Daigle

Diane says very little about herself, and in reality she doesn't need to. Her art speaks to her audience far louder than she ever could.
In her Biography she says "I have studied with, and continue to study with a renown Canadian painter, Lucy Manley, who's expertise in loose, bold strokes have strongly influenced my most recent works although my own tightly controlled style still comes through in all my work. I love working in the outdoors and have, most recently, found great inspiration from my favorite model and best friend, Gunther."
So who is Gunther? Perhaps it is best you meet him!

This is Gunther, and he comes wearing costumes for all tastes :)

Brilliant movement in the hair.

I think I should feature Gunther a la naturale!

Diane has beautiful brushtrokes - they are very simplified, and yet they loose nothing in her artistic expression.

It is hard for me to select a personal favorite from Diane Daigle's portfolio, but if pushed - it's all the above and thi…

Artist Feature - Allen Beatty

Allen says,"Images are much more than a simple record. Photography speaks to the best and most generous part of our human nature--the desire to share what we find beautiful and interesting with others. Photography allows us to express ourselves through an art form."

"We notice a beautiful landscape or a sunset and we want to capture it. Each of us will have a different reason to do so but, essentially, we want to create something. However humdrum our nine-to-five lives may be the creation of an image makes us an artist."

"Photographs can grab our attention and speak directly to our emotions. Photography at it's best, is a powerful language which speaks to us. It allows us to tell our story and show others our framing of the world around us. And for the photographer who trips the shutter, it feels good. I would be delighted and honored if you chose to hang one of my photos on your wall or use one as a greeting card."

Finally, a magnificent black and white …

Featured Artist : Sophia Art Gallery

"SophiaArt Gallery offers original artwork in a variety of mediums including acrylic, watercolor and oil paints, pastels, colored pencil and graphite. "

"Water based acrylic painting of a yellow hibiscus flower. I chose to portray it from the back and below which is a slightly unusual angle. I also chose to have the light source shining through the petals to highlight their fragility, and so that it would appear to glow."

Canis Canon : Featured Artist

Canis says, "Canis Canon makes art - and other cool stuff - in West Texas. He sings, but he don't dance or jump. He tells true stories, fables, parables and lies - sometimes all at once. He once rode a trolley car to the gates of Hell, but jumped ship before his ticket got punched. Canis never met a man he didn't like, but he's met a lot of overgrown boys he can't abide. He may write more here later, but this is plenty for right now.

His art handle is *cujo* so don't be confused - if 'ol Hokusai could change his name 7 times, then so can Mr. Canon."

Canis has excellent drawing skills.

I do have a favorite from Canis Canon's portfolio :)

I think this artwork speaks for itself, but I like the imagination behind it and the execution of color theory and concept.

Please help support these wonderful emerging artists by visiting their portfolios. Click below to visit Canis Canon.

Jeff Kolker Featured Artist

Jeff Kolker is an amazing digital artist who paints so well with his digital materials that I often find it hard to distinguish the artwork from traditional works.

Jeff says in his own words, "Self taught, I use the computer to paint. I've always been interested in computers since I first worked on one way back in high school. And I've always had an appreciation for art, as my mother is an accomplished painter. Merging the two, what you see are the results. Digital work that looks hopefully like a traditional painting."

Jeff goes on to say, "My paintings are mostly places I've been, preserving the memory and sharing them with the world. I love to travel, seeing and experiencing new things. Painting the things I see reflect the wonder I had when I first saw them. I hope that when people see my works, they think the subject matter is interesting, whether or not they like the painting."

My favorite of Jeff's works is hard to select - he has so much beauti…
